2020年4月11日央视新闻报道，QQ群搜索页面中出现将“学校”、“网课”等关键词搜索结果匹配交友直播、网络游戏等群组信息，并向用户进行推荐的行为。腾讯QQ回应高度关注相关报道，已经将QQ群资料卡的相关群推荐、群地理位置里面的交友直播推荐等页面下线，并称将加强未成年人健康上网保护。 北京教育科学研究院信息中心表示，将这些不当内容和未成年人的学习、浏览习惯进行显著关联的话，明显是有诱导未成年人浏览这些交友等不良内容的倾向。

2019年12月11日，新东方教育集团旗下的在线教育网站——新东方在线因APP数据安全问题，成为被工信部北京市通信管理局约谈的17家企业之一。北京通信管理局对企业违规收集使用用户信息、强制授权等问题提出书面整改要求，要求限期整改。
On December 11, 2019, New Oriental Online, an online education website under New Oriental Education Group, became one of the 17 companies interviewed by the Beijing Municipal Communications Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology due to APP data security issues. The Beijing Communications Administration Bureau put forward written rectification requirements for enterprises' illegal collection and use of user information, compulsory authorization, etc., and required rectification within a time limit.
